about

Set for the last "Wired" show in Athens. Made by reverse engineering modified 70's show themes and production library music, rewritten and recorded with live instruments.

I got very bored with the electronic scene. After nearly 20 years of seeing electronic blossom into intense, complex, but still somehow primal subgenres like jungle, drum and bass, and IDM, it seemed to be resting on its haunches, losing steam. It may be louder now, but a lot of it is a reduction of a reiteration.

Instead of just louder, simpler, slower, I wanted to do the opposite of dubstep. Fast, hard, dynamic, absolutely beating the audience over the head with rapid fire melodies and a massive undercurrent of harmony.
And to do all this with the sounds we've forgotten.

about

Dusk Hartwell, Georgia

We started in 1994. At first we bounced reel to reel, then four track and finally digital in 2000.

We have a lot of influence from bands like Stereolab, Lush, 70's prog rock, old PSA music beds and production music, and composers like Ennio Morricone and Basil Kirchin.

Typically we use an Epiphone EB-0, Les Paul Special II, Charvel bass, Juno 60, XP-50 and Hammond J series.
